One of the things that I love most about having a blog is meeting all of the women reading this. I have met so many fellow fertility sisters through this blog and its awesome! So if you are struggling with infertility I want to hear about it!

Oh Boy looks like we might be having twins!!!!

So we went in this morning excited to see our baby's heartbeat! We were thrilled to see a nice healthy heartbeat, then we were shocked when Dr. Werlin scrolled over to find a second sac with with a yolk sac! That's right TWINS!!! We may have had a late implanter. Baby B didn't have a heartbeat yet since he or she implanted after Baby A. Hopefully we will see a second heartbeat next Friday!!!! We are shocked, excited, scared, you name it!

Oh boy are you sitting down???

Just kidding only one bean in there so far!!!!! And when I say so far I mean there is always a chance for a late implanter. My sister went in for her first week and was told she was having twins then went in the following week and low and behold another sac popped up and she was having triplets! We will go in to see Dr Werlin every Friday for the remainder of the first trimester. Next week we will get to see the heartbeat:)

Beta # 2 is in!!!!! Drum roll please..........

Are you ready for this?

Beta # 2 is 533!!!!

I was expecting 460 at the most and was blown away by 533:) At this rate we could be looking at our first ultrasound scan next week:) Wooooo hooooo!

I was dreading this day because with my first pregnancy she didn't double until the 3rd beta. Then with my last pregnancy it didn't double at all and I lost the pregnancy. We have made it!!! I am so relieved and finally feel like I can relax and enjoy this pregnancy! Its crazy that I am getting so many symptoms so early like feeling nauseous and having heartburn, but as I told a girlfriend I welcome these symptoms with open arms:)

Beta # 3 is Wednesday:)

3 day embryo transfer

So here's what happens in a successful 3 day embryo transfer:) right now I guess I'm 4 days past a 3 day transfer:)

3-Day Transfer
Days Past
Transfer (DPT) Embryo Development

One The embryo continues to grow and develop, turning from a 6-8 cell embryo into a morula

Two The cells of the morula continue to divide, developing into a blastocyst

Three The blastocyst begins to hatch out of its shell

Four The blastocyst continues to hatch out of its shell and begins to attach itself to the uterus

Five The blastocyst attaches deeper into the uterine lining, beginning implantation

Six Implantation continues

Seven Implantation is complete, cells that will eventually become the placenta and fetus have begun to develop

Eight Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) starts to enter the blood stream

Nine Fetal development continues and hCG continues to be secreted

Ten Fetal development continues and hCG continues to be secreted

Eleven Levels of hCG are now high enough to detect a pregnancy

Heard back from Dr. Werlin on the last 3 embryos

Good news / bad news but still positive!!!!! Okay so dr Werlin called this morning, he said that one of the 3 remaining embryos made it to the blast stage but the quality wasn't great. So he didn't freeze it because he didn't think it would work on a FET if we ever decided to thaw it out for a future attempt. Now to the good news he says because of that, it leads him to believe that the ones inside of me (because of the great quality) would have made it to blasts as well so we have a really good shot at getting pregnant this cycle:)

On pins and needles

Waiting for Dr. Werlin to call me to let me know if my 3 remaining embryos made it to freeze. Every time the phone rings my heart drops! Going insane!

A special thank you

I am blogging from bed. Bed-rest is the worst part of IVF in my opinion! Of course everyone knows that I am the worst patient in the world! I don't like anyone doing anything for me lol! Yes I'm stubborn like my dad:) something that I am trying to work on:)

But I have to say thank you to my bible study girlfriends, Sara, Dor and Claud!!! You guys are the greatest! All three have made meals for us and Dor is here with me now:) she's also coming back tomorrow:) thank you so much guys for all of your love, prayers and support! You guys are the best!

So we are working with 7 beautiful fertilized eggs:) We are happy with that number:) I on the other hand am struggling this morning in pain from yesterdays procedure, so I am going to take it easy and try to rest as much as possible.

14 Eggs retreived!!!!

We are off to a good start! 14 eggs were retrieved and that is the most that we have ever been able to retrieve in all 4 fresh cycles, so already I am feeling positive about this! Yay!!!! Luis got me some lunch, I finished my work, and now I am getting sleepy from the anesthesia so Mia and I are off to cuddle and take a nap:)
